It was a different world 50 years ago

Today in the US people are paying tribute the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King.

A lot of times I decline to write about what everyone else is. I often think many of us lost the meaning of what was going on in the civil rights movement. The people of all races that love this man, loved him because he wanted equality of all people. This is stronger than just Black & White race relations during that time. It was the base of the foundation that would stop discrimination of someone just because they were not like you.

I realize by living outside the US this was very much needed in the US. America is a multicultural country & discrimination only keeps the dominant race in power & any others poorer. Although the problem at the time seemed to happen between blacks & whites, latinos, asians, muslims, homosexuals, indians also had to bear the burden of discrimination.

Things are better than they were 50 years ago in terms of Civil Rights & opportunities that you can have regardless of your race, gender, or color. Let’s try to encourage each other for advancement. Advancement of all people.

This is my tribute to a great man. If it wasn’t for freedom fighters like you I wouldn’t have any of my life experiences I cherish.

World’s Greatest Travel Quiz App

I believe the greatest travel quiz app would be called
“If you from New York…”
Questions would be auto created by plugging in a mic & listening to ANY two New Yorkers in a foreign country or other state, that just met & both said “I’m from Brooklyn, NYC, or Bronx”
All questions would start with
If you from New York tell me..
If you from New York tell me. You remember Luci on 7th ave with the one eyed aunt? What color was his laces???
Only New Yorkers would know this..

With iphone iOS 7 Domain Parking will die!!

I haven’t written any domain related posts for a long time.
I like to look at domains, parking etc in a realistic way.

I realized a long time ago that Direct Navigation wasn’t exactly direct navigation.
Domainers made so much from domain parking because Internet Explorer redirected keywords to the .com version up until version 7.

After that Safari & Opera did the same thing.
The increase in traffic to domains was because of iPhone use (CPC was also lower because of it). Safari redirected the keywords to the dot com version.
I’d like to firmly state that people do not append dot com to every keyword to the scale that we receive traffic.
We receive traffic because of redirects in browsers.

With that I just upgraded to iOS 7 Apple has finally gotten rid of the dot com redirect like other browsers.
I’m not writing this with an intent to discourage you from domains. I believe domains are great but there was no guarantee, these redirects would last forever.

With iOS7 the redirect has been removed.
Parking revenues in all markets will drastically reduce in 2014 because of this.

You guys reading this be great, & yes this affects me too but I’d like to share so you can prepare.

Google may have killed drop catching

I haven’t really paid attention to domaining recently. I’m not a promoter at all of buying domains just for investments. I do think you should purchase quality domains within your budget for projects you want to develop still.

I still actually register domains. Almost all of them are domains I want to develop.

Something that I noticed lately on registering an expired domain that didn’t resolve to a web site is that Google had made links to that site nonexistant. On Bing the backlinks were there. On Yahoo, still there, on Googkle backlinks zero. I looked at other domains too that were expired, not resolving to a site & obviously had backlinks. All of them we couldn’t see any of the backlinks from Google.

If Google devalues all existing backlinks to a domain after it expires, it will crush the domain drop catching market. Currently this is the case & situation that’s happening with expired .jp (Japanese market). I don’t like to just assume so I’m currently testing with a new domain purchase. Will the prior backlinks become visable again? Will Google only show new backlinks I acquire for that domain? I spoke with the SEO experts here who noticed this the same time I did as I discussed my new domain domain purchase.

I don’t think drop catching services would publicize this if it’s true. I’m still doing testing & it will take a few months to get the site reindexed & backlinks showing. I’m also investing on ads to make sure it had legitimate content & users who come back to the site.

I’m not downing domaining at all. I just don’t subscribe to it’s the best thing to invest in just because I want to sell domains. I want any of the readers of this blog to be presented with new ideas, or information as accurate as possible. These backlinks might show back up later, that’s why I strongly suggest you to test on your own also. Since the site didn’t resolve the links to the site may not have resolved. When the domain appears back in Google will the backlinks to that domain reappear? That’s what needs to be tested.

*I’m believe in the past I saw links to expired domains after I purchased them.
